Description
A new vision of modern tropical living is taking shape in Jacó.
Nestled in Vallecito Escondido, North Jacó, SULARA is the inaugural vision of Aldea Group, created through the collaboration of two families brought together by a shared passion for regenerative living, purposeful communities, and exceptional design.
Located just minutes from downtown Jacó and approximately 1 kilometer northwest of Hotel Tucan Calvo, SULARA offers a rare balance between accessibility and privacy—close enough to enjoy everything Jacó has to offer while surrounded by the tranquility of the tropical landscape.
More than a traditional residential development, SULARA is envisioned as a complete regenerative coastal community. Limited to just 26 residences, the project brings together architecture, nature, wellness, technology, and community into one carefully considered environment designed to enhance both the living experience and long-term value of the development.
Where Nature Becomes Home
Each residence will be designed as its own architectural statement, responding to its individual site, views, and natural surroundings. While the homes share a cohesive design philosophy and quality standard, no two residences are intended to be identical.
The result is a community with harmony without repetition, where architecture works with the landscape rather than competing with it.
The community is organized into three distinct settings, carefully tiered along the mountainside. Each neighborhood is designed to provide panoramic views, privacy, and a strong connection to the surrounding tropical environment.
Designed Around Regenerative Living
At SULARA, regenerative living means creating a more positive relationship between people and the natural environment.
The community incorporates a range of systems and initiatives designed to support a more efficient, resilient, and nature-connected lifestyle, including:
100% solar off-grid energy
Responsible water management
Permaculture gardens and food forest
Native landscaping
Bionest wastewater treatment
ICF structural systems
Insulated glass
Inverter air conditioning
Smart LED lighting
Propane systems
Together, these elements are designed to improve comfort, efficiency, independence, and the relationship between the homes and their natural surroundings.
A Community Designed for Wellbeing
SULARA extends beyond the individual residence.
Shared permaculture gardens, a food forest, and greenhouse are planned to provide residents with seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and other fresh produce while creating opportunities for connection and community.
Planned amenities are being introduced progressively and include:
Wellness Hub & Gym
Sunset Pavilion
Yoga Deck
Organic Gardens & Permaculture Areas
Children's Playground
Surfskate Area
The community is also planned as a gated, low-density development, with controlled access, security cameras, community monitoring, and regulations designed to preserve privacy, architectural quality, and the overall character of SULARA as the community evolves.
Connected to Everything, Surrounded by Nature
One of SULARA's defining advantages is its location.
Jacó is one of Costa Rica's most accessible coastal destinations, located less than 90 minutes from San José International Airport and surrounded by the experiences that make the Central Pacific so desirable.
From SULARA, residents can enjoy convenient access to:
Surfing
Sport fishing
Hiking
Waterfalls
Primary rainforest
Abundant wildlife
Restaurants
Shopping
International private schools
Nearby healthcare
All while remaining minutes from the beach and downtown Jacó.
Discover a new way to live in Jacó.
Whether you're looking for a private Costa Rican residence, a lifestyle investment, or a deeper connection with nature, SULARA offers a thoughtfully designed alternative to conventional coastal development.
